Let’s Go to the Beach, Beach; Let’s Go Get Away

 This past weekend was spent in Tampa with The Apples and Poppy and CeCe who came all the way from Virginia to visit.  We drove up Friday, stopped for lunch at Cracker Barrel and just hung with the fam the rest of the day.




Saturday we headed East to Indian Rocks Beach, where daddy spent much of his childhood.  We swam at the hotel pool, enjoyed frozen daiquiris (virgin of course), and had dinner at PJ’s Oyster Bar.  KK is really bonding with her cousins… it is so adorable to witness.  She would squeal with joy as Ethan chased her around the house and even held hands with Riley at dinner.  I can barely get her to hold my hand at most times, Miss Independent. 






Sunday we relaxed at the beach after breakfast.  Little girl actually got in the water this time.  We have never really attempted to take her in when we have gone in the past, as the water has been too chilly but perfect temps this weekend. 

We made the drive home Monday… and little KK is still recovering from her sleep mishaps over the weekend.  It’s crazy how one or two missed/short naps can mess a girl up for days. 

And in other news… Kaelyn, AKA Bruiser, got her first Mike Tyson black eye Monday night.  I seriously don’t even know how it happened.  She was pushing her little picnic basket around the kitchen and Brax and I both saw her go down.  It didn’t look all that drastic, she cried for a minute, and recovered as usual, then boom… she’s ready for the boxing ring.  My poor boo… it almost looks worse today then it did yesterday.  She’s one tough cookie though and will be back to normal in a few days.


She missed her bubba... he stayed with his girlfriend Luna for the weekend.

Baby girl number two is doing wonderful.  Had a doctor’s visit today… and she is a healthy 2 lbs 4 oz and right on track.  I cannot believe in just three short months Kaelyn’s little sister will be here and we will be a family of four.  I am soaking up the moments with my only child and anticipating the arrival of a new baby sister.

    You're kind of slacken on your blog! Over a month and nothing new to write about. I miss seeing pictures of Miss KK, so get to work!

AHHHH!  Prepping for a new baby and holidays make for one crazy combo in my world.  So here we are, February knocking on the door, and I am finally posting our November, December, and January.  Better late than never I suppose.  It's been a super busy three months, but we have celebrated Thanksgiving, a new niece, Christmas, and prepared for a new arrival by moving the girls into one room and getting his nursery ready to go. Good-Bye 2015

Happy New Year!  We actually stayed awake long enough this year to say good-bye to 2015.  We even made it out which I don't think has happened since we had our two beauties.  You better believe the minute that clock hit midnight we were hailing the first Uber driver available to get us home.  This was mainly due to Kaelyn being awoken by the barrage of fireworks and not being able to settle until she had her mama passed out in her bed. We said good-bye to Nonnie yesterday after a week and a half of time together.  We were able to celebrate Christmas and say hello to the New Year together and it was oh so special.  Aunt Kelly and Ethan also joined in on the fun for a few days. How Did We Get Here?!? Kaelyn’s First Day of Preschool (and some serious catching up!)

I had no intention of putting my eldest daughter in school this year.  I figured I would reap the last drops of my sweet girl before she began the never-ending journey that is her education.  I have a sappy heart and for selfish reasons didn't want to let my girl go.  Well after a discussion with Kaelyn on the prospect of school and the enthusiasm she didn't try to hide from weak old mom... I decided to let my little bird fly.   After asking around and checking it out online we decided on a local school that just so happened to have two available spots… one for Kaelyn and one for her bestie, Luke.   After touring the school… Kaelyn was sold and there was no looking back.   Which brings us to today.   Kaelyn marched down the hallway and made herself at home in her new classroom.     I was the mom that was in the car loop twenty minutes early after the longest three hours of my life.   She  got in the car and proceeded ...
