Happy 80th Birthday Grandma!!

Image
Last weekend we headed up to Lido Beach to have a little Kracht Family Reunion to celebrate Grandma’s 80 th birthday.  The woman doesn’t look or act a day over 60 I tell you!  We were a bit concerned that the out-of-towners coming in would be stranded with all the awful snow and ice but everyone made it safe and sound. On Friday we arrived at the Helmsley Sandcastle and were greeted by my Aunt Kelli and Aunt Melanie.  While KK played in the sand we caught up on what must be over 10 to 15 years and waited as the rest of the troops trickled in… my dad and his girlfriend Sharon, Grandma, Cousin Kayla, Kelli’s husband Dennis, cousin Tad, Uncle Ed, Cousin Jason and his wife Alicia and their two children, Cassie, Nev, and Grace.  Jack joined us Saturday as he had an exam early Saturday morning.  I have not seen some of them since I was just a little older than Kaelyn and Cassie hasn’t even met a few Kracht family members so it was so wonderful to get reacquaint...

Three Years and Going Strong

Today Braxton and I celebrate three blissful years of marriage and six years of being together.   We got married almost three years to the day of that fateful evening at Jumby Bay Island Grill where we locked eyes from across the bar and began our eternity together.   Braxton is truly the best.  When I originally wrote that sentence, it said… Braxton is truly the best husband.  But he is so much more than just the best husband.   He is my best friend.   He is the best father.   He is the best son, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, employee, friend and the list could go on and on.      He puts up with me… which is no easy task…  just ask my mother.  I am beyond blessed to have him for the rest of my life… and I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t wake up next to him every morning and go to sleep cuddled beside him (well almost… there is a little beagle spread out between us!) every night. I am so in lo...

Rewind Time- Kaelyn's First Birthday

Before I started my blog, I was keeping a journal on the computer. Pretty much the same thing as my blog… the whole world just didn't have access.  My plan is to get a hardcopy of my posts on a yearly basis to have a keepsake of our year… almost like a yearbook.  So I am going to slowly transfer the entries from my journal onto the blog.. with a little editing as anyone and everyone can read. I cannot believe my Kaelyn will be two in just about a month.  I have been going back and forth with how to celebrate.  We will literally be in the middle of our move so timing is not on our side.  I think I have settled on having a fun family day with just us on  the day of her bday and celebrating with all the family whenever they end up visiting our new spot.  A party will  be too difficult with everything going on.  And she will love it either way… I'll make sure of it! And without further ado… Kaelyn's First Birthday A Mickey Mouse Clubhouse K...
