We made some memories this past weekend. It wasn’t easy… but really a little bit of
effort makes the reward all that much sweeter.
We started our trip to Tampa off right by stopping in to
visit with the beautiful little Greta and her parents, Brie and Cory.It blows my mind how many of our close
friends have babies that are within months and some even weeks of my two.So cool.Lana and Greta got to know each other while Cory indulged Kaelyn with
some animated book readings.The
dogs, Einstein and Ziggy, got some quality time with one another as well.
The dads trying to keep these two still for a picture
Clearly that didn't work out
And off they go...
The rest of our trip was spent at Aunt Kelly’s house. The girls got plenty of cousin lovin’ … and
oh, did I mention… we saw The Wiggles?
There were a few bumps in the road … the hour drive to the Tampa Bay
Rays stadium was spent in tears… loud ones…. by the two littles. Lana just doesn’t like being in the car, so
her hysterics were predicted. Kaelyn
had a meltdown, for reasons I can now no longer remember. Par for the course my friends. We were already running late, or so we
thought, due to the two tutus (say that three times fast) (assembled last minute on car ride to Tampa, leaving the backseat covered in glitter) being entirely to large for my boos and needing some quick altering.
Arrival at the stadium left us looking for lot 6 where
Braxton and Brian had parked earlier so they could actually watch the ball
game. That in it self was no easy task
as there were a ton of lots.Once we finally did happen upon it the officer yelled at us and told us
we couldn’t park there…. but after one look in our car full of desperate
faces ready to evacuate… he let us in with a grunt and head shake.Of course there were issues with our tickets… which we already had
issues with previously (they wouldn’t print because of a system error and when they
finally would we had printer problems) but eventually we made it through the gate. After being informed the game was still going we treated ourselves to a much deserved beer before hopping in line.
We waited in that darn line for an hour and a
half (the game went into extra innings) in which time my oldest
decided she no longer wanted to wear the tutu her mother had slaved over and
stripped down to her tights and diaper. My youngest, sick and tired of being held, was set loose to crawl and roll around the disgusting stadium floor. My kids were a sight let me tell you. But after what was literally an eternity we were allowed on the field.
And that is when the magic happened. The Wiggles put on a amazing show… my girls
were in absolute awe… and all the stress was so worth it.Would totally do it again. I think.
No food on the field?!? That doesn't stop these two rule breakers!
Riley made sure Lana got a good view
Gettin' down
Girls' got some moves
Ethan and Simon
Yes... that is Kaelyn's hand giving a high-five to Lachy!
That face right there makes me so happy!
Twinkle, twinkle, litte star
And finally... a video for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy... and get your barf bag ready!
May was full of end-of-season dance recitals, end-of-preschool excitedness, and travels here and there with us venturing out of town and family venturing in. We brought May to a close with a little hometown staycation- full of beach adventures, hula dancing, BBQs, and mini-golf. Appreciating lately: A Tiny Dancer Here’s a bonus of my cutes before her recital. We are taking a break from ballet over the summer and are trying something new- gymnastics. Little sister will get to join in on the fun this go round. Our Backyard So not technically our backyard, but just a hop, skip, and jump down the street and here we are. Braxton’s dream came true because we had two little girls finally take a ride on his surfboard. He may have two surfer chicks after all- and we now have a new kids surfboard being delivered any day. My Dedicated Husband He works so incredibly hard on our yard and it has proven to be such a pain in ...
April is gone and we have not much to show of it except for some begininng tan lines. I am anxiously awaiting summer, the dread is settling in that when August rolls around my oldest daughter will be in school 5 days a week. It will only be for three hours a day, but I am still having trouble coping. I am ready to soak up the rays and appreciate every ounce of that girl that I can this summer. The month of April has brought much to appreciate: Big girl bed for the littlest She was so excited to have a bed that she could climb in and out of. For the most part it has gone well, though I think she is still itching for a full bed like that of her sisters. No more pack and play! Friendship My girlies have already formed bonds with both friends and family that will last them a lifetime and nothing could make my heart more happy. Outdoor Adventure This past month Kaelyn finally made it off the stairs in the pool and has gained some confide...
I may have taken an almost two-year hiatus from this blog space but I’m really going to give it a go and try to keep it at least somewhat current. Three kids have given me a run for my money , especially when my youngest never. ever. stops. I’d like to one day backtrack with the millions of photos I have but we shall see. We can hardly contain our excitement for the month of December which is just a few days away. We spent the last week decking the halls inside with big plans for Daddy to take care of the outside this weekend. The tree has been decorated and I just can’t handle the girls and their excitement to look at each and every ornament and remember where it came from and the precious memories attached. Gabe chipped in on the trimming of the tree and we managed to escape without one broken ornament. He still likes to pull them off here and there but we tried to keep the breakable ones out of ...
