We made some memories this past weekend. It wasn’t easy… but really a little bit of
effort makes the reward all that much sweeter.
We started our trip to Tampa off right by stopping in to
visit with the beautiful little Greta and her parents, Brie and Cory.It blows my mind how many of our close
friends have babies that are within months and some even weeks of my two.So cool.Lana and Greta got to know each other while Cory indulged Kaelyn with
some animated book readings.The
dogs, Einstein and Ziggy, got some quality time with one another as well.
The dads trying to keep these two still for a picture
Clearly that didn't work out
And off they go...
The rest of our trip was spent at Aunt Kelly’s house. The girls got plenty of cousin lovin’ … and
oh, did I mention… we saw The Wiggles?
There were a few bumps in the road … the hour drive to the Tampa Bay
Rays stadium was spent in tears… loud ones…. by the two littles. Lana just doesn’t like being in the car, so
her hysterics were predicted. Kaelyn
had a meltdown, for reasons I can now no longer remember. Par for the course my friends. We were already running late, or so we
thought, due to the two tutus (say that three times fast) (assembled last minute on car ride to Tampa, leaving the backseat covered in glitter) being entirely to large for my boos and needing some quick altering.
Arrival at the stadium left us looking for lot 6 where
Braxton and Brian had parked earlier so they could actually watch the ball
game. That in it self was no easy task
as there were a ton of lots.Once we finally did happen upon it the officer yelled at us and told us
we couldn’t park there…. but after one look in our car full of desperate
faces ready to evacuate… he let us in with a grunt and head shake.Of course there were issues with our tickets… which we already had
issues with previously (they wouldn’t print because of a system error and when they
finally would we had printer problems) but eventually we made it through the gate. After being informed the game was still going we treated ourselves to a much deserved beer before hopping in line.
We waited in that darn line for an hour and a
half (the game went into extra innings) in which time my oldest
decided she no longer wanted to wear the tutu her mother had slaved over and
stripped down to her tights and diaper. My youngest, sick and tired of being held, was set loose to crawl and roll around the disgusting stadium floor. My kids were a sight let me tell you. But after what was literally an eternity we were allowed on the field.
And that is when the magic happened. The Wiggles put on a amazing show… my girls
were in absolute awe… and all the stress was so worth it.Would totally do it again. I think.
No food on the field?!? That doesn't stop these two rule breakers!
Riley made sure Lana got a good view
Gettin' down
Girls' got some moves
Ethan and Simon
Yes... that is Kaelyn's hand giving a high-five to Lachy!
That face right there makes me so happy!
Twinkle, twinkle, litte star
And finally... a video for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy... and get your barf bag ready!
As I sit here, drinking my pumpkin spice creamer (with a splash of coffee) and munching some pumpkin bread I’m trying to tie my jumble of pictures together into a post that makes some sort of sense… and pretty much getting nowhere. It’s been a bit chaotic around here… not really sure why… but can’t seem to bring the focus in to get a blog post done. So with the focus thrown out the window, here is what we have been up to lately... Tara paid us a visit not to long ago and we got to meet her little beauty, Priya. Love that girl as does my Kaelyn. Smart girl... knows the best team in college football! (thanks for the photo bomb Josh!) We may have a little volunteer fire fighter on our hands… as long as she doesn’t have to hold onto the hose too tight. For Kaelyn’s first birthday we got her a bike trailer that we cruised around in all of three times in Jupiter and haven’t touched since… until now. We live super close to a beautiful p
AHHHH! Prepping for a new baby and holidays make for one crazy combo in my world. So here we are, February knocking on the door, and I am finally posting our November, December, and January. Better late than never I suppose. It's been a super busy three months, but we have celebrated Thanksgiving, a new niece, Christmas, and prepared for a new arrival by moving the girls into one room and getting his nursery ready to go. And now, November.. We have moved up in gymnastics... now both girls get to play while mama sits. My kind of gymnastics class. We traveled to Tampa for Thanksgiving this year. No baking involved... Ruth Chris Steak House for the win. A Thanksgiving celebration at school Daddy Daughter Date Our annual tree selection ceremony. This year I was pretty insistent on the tree we chose... which ended up being a dud and hardly making it through Christmas. Oops. The Elf on the Shelf
Today, January 25 th , we would be celebrating my brother’s 33 rd birthday. When I think of him passing at the age of twenty, one of the first thoughts that always enters my head is being sad for him that he never reached legal drinking age. I couldn’t wait for this day when I was twenty, but honestly, he probably could have cared less. Chad didn’t get into trouble. He was quiet, kind, responsible, thoughtful, tall, handsome… any mamma’s dream child. Chad lived a peaceful and content life at home with my Mom, Cassie, and Jack. He loved his video games and actually liked his job at Federal Express. Nothing breaks my heart more than not being home with him and my family his last couple years. As the years pass, my memories fade, and that is gut wrenching. I have tried and tried to remember the last time we were together or our last conversation, and both have vanished. I do know the last time we talked over the phone we had discussed something about my cat, an
