Spring Break Overload… and a Happy Easter!

Disclaimer:  I believe this post right here contains about 70 photos… there was just entirely too much fun had not to share.

Before we dive in to all the amaziness that was our spring break (technically the girls and I don’t  get a spring break, so we live vicariously through Cassie and her girls) I figured we should at least give a nod to the holiday that was skipped on this here blog… St. Patty’s Day.  We celebrated, as any Irish girls should, with donuts and playground shenanigans.

Over an entire week was spent with the Stanley girls… or as Kaelyn calls them… My Aunt Cassie, My Nev, and My Grace.  We made sure we fit in every ounce of fun that could be had in this here town.

Our week consisted of…

The Zoo
We splashed, we fed giraffes, we touched sea critters, and topped the trip off with what else then our family favorite… dippin dots.

 Sebastian Inlet
Well worth the thirty-minute drive… we loaded up the towels, toys, lunches, and Annie soundtrack (Kaelyn is obsessed and this was definitely our spring break soundtrack) and drove to the beach that boasts a little wading pool of sorts for the kiddos.  The girls did some water gymnastics and exploring.  We made an Easter trial mix the previous day and munched it the whole way home and into the house.

Someone did not want this picture to happen... and it wasn't the smiley girl up front.

Tumbling
No, not falling, unless we are referring to Lana, but more in terms of gymnastics.  Every night after dinner we packed up the wagon with girlies, took a walk around the block (Ziggy was loving life, he rarely gets walked anymore, bad doggy parents here) and came home to play in the yard… chasing bubbles and doing cartwheels.

Chuck E Cheese
A mouse, games, tickets, and prizes.  Oh, and pizza.

 The Beach
Probably the favorite spot on our spring break trek… we visited a few times.  Nev and Cassie were given surfing lessons … and pretty sure a certain sister of mine has taken a liking to the hobby my husband adores so much.

Easter Party
Grandma and Uncle Jack joined us Friday so they could be here for Easter.  We started with an Easter Party that our city hosts.  Donut holes, juice, goodie bags, the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt.  Not sure what else you could ask for.  Wait, yes, I am… a little girl who is not scared of the Easter bunny… well ok, here you go…

This girl of mine didn’t want anything to do with the bunny last year.  She also is terrified of Santa.  But both Lana and Kaelyn were in awe of the bunny.  Kaelyn gave him a huge hug and Lana chased him around as he was trying to kick off the egg hunts.

Mr. Caleb didn't want to miss out on the good times

Bunny Crafts and Eggs
Nev took on the role of teacher and crafted with Kaelyn for a whole afternoon.  We had our Easter dinner on Saturday as the family had to leave Sunday to get back home.  So while I slaved in the kitchen… Grandma and Aunt Cassie helped the girls dye their eggs… they look thrilled right?

Easter Sunday
We woke before the sun… 5ish I believe and headed to the beach for a sunrise Easter service.  Though it was hard to hear the priest with the waves crashing and thousands of people, it was beautiful.  Once home, the girls found their hidden baskets and we all chowed down on Easter brunch.  Once stuffed to the brim, we egg hunted, egg tossed, and loved on one another before the family said good-bye.

Whew… it’s no wonder why I am still recovering.

Can I just tell you how much I love this picture?!?
