My Sweet Lana, the Two Year Old

Deciding on our Halloween game plan, we knew these two had to be together…

Our Halloween was full of tricks and treats.  My blonde pixie was transformed into a fiery redheaded mermaid.  There was also success in the costume department for Lana.  She put her Princess Sofia dress on earlier in the day and didn’t want to take it off so we were golden when it came time to score some candy.

Daddy carved the pumpkin with no help from our two pipsqueaks.  They preferred to duke it out, deciding who was the fairest princess of them all.  When darkness began to fall we headed out, stopping next door for a special treat from our neighbors who love our girls so.

Gift basket from our neighbor, full of hidden surprises.    Leave it to Lana to find the Halloween oreos.

What do you mean I can't eat the whole bag?

Trick or Treating was eventful.  We found the hot spot in our beachside town and there was no shortage of candy or costumed kids.  Kaelyn started off strong, forgetting how her Halloween ended last year with a scary masked monster, and ran up to the houses with her friends.  About half way through our night however, the scary monster  made his return and she needed a lot of reassurance the rest of the way.  Lana was a baller.  She was chauffeured around in the little red wagon, hopped out at each stop, ran to the door with no regard to the other six kids in line, and collected her loot.  She then full speed ran back to the wagon, hopped back inside and waited until we arrived at her next destination.

With a bit of a candy hangover, we celebrated Lana’s second birthday with a lot of love and family time.  We decided on no party this year, but still had our Nonnie make a special visit.  There was present opening, dinner out, and cookie cake.

My girl, she is special.   She is a bubbly, fearless firecracker.  She won't sit still, yet is transfixed by Caillou, not moving for thirty minutes.  She has impeccable manners, yes please and thank you, and loves her sissy something fierce.  One little whine from her older sister and Lana will give up whatever she has to make her sister smile.  She is such a lover, giving the best hugs and caring for her babies like a true mama should.  This past year she has grown so much.  She is beautiful and smart.  We are in for it, no doubt.

Happy Birthday my sweet Lana.  Mommy loves you forever and always!
