A Four Year Old and Her Princess Party

This birthday post is coming in a good month overdue.  Life has thrown those I love most a few curveballs and we have been focusing on healing and family time.  With that being said, here’s a little ditty about a girl turning four and her beloved princess party.

It was her weekend.  It began with cupcakes and song in school, where not only did her classmates sing the chorus, her mommy, daddy, and sister got to be in on the big event.  It was a bit overwhelming for her, and for a minute I was sure she was going to burst into tears.  She kept it together, as did I, and we celebrated with her friends.

Before the influx of family arrived, we spent an evening with Mickey, Minnie, and none-else than those Disney Princesses our girl loves so.

This year our timid girl has braved many the experience-from ballet to school- and we have watched her confidence continue to rise.  She is mature and funny, and loves those closest to her something fierce.  We have begun to bitter sweetly realize, our girl is growing up.

Kaelyn had known for months and months what her birthday party would be this year.  Heck, this girl has her next two birthday themes planned out.  So a Disney Princess Party it was.

We bounced until we couldn’t bounce any more.

Ate plenty of princess goodies.

And in the end had the sweetest, most caring, four year old I know, on cloud 9.

My first-born is growing up, and it is a wonder to behold.
