Appreciating: Summertime

The summer has been a blur of water, friends, and family.  We haven't slowed but are loving every moment of our sweet summertime.



So much to appreciate in these summer months…

Friends from near and far
Tara was in Florida for a few days and brought her sidekick Priya along.  Erika stopped by and we had quite the reunited play date.

As good as it was going to get

Gymnastics
The girls love their summer gymnastics classes.  Lana and I get to run around the gym and explore all the exciting equipment while Kaelyn goes with her teacher and class in a little more structured routine. 






Zoo Trips
Still one of our fave spots, even in this ridiculous heat.  Kaelyn is conquering fears left and right, this day it was the feeding of this girl.




Siesta Key
Our second time at this beautiful spot, we spent the days with Poppy, CeeCee, and the Apples soaking in the snow-like sand, clear ocean water, and unlimited supply of food and beverages in this little town.











This night may have been the best of her life.  Up past bedtime playing frisbee with the whole gang without a care in the world.






The Fourth
We got Grandma, Cassie, and the girls in town again this year to help us celebrate.  Instead of venturing out this year, daddy put on a little show.  Then we realized what we missed out on last year as there were beautiful fireworks going on everywhere you looked.  








We are sitting tight for the next week or so until the next troop of family heads in, keeping our hearts full and schedules busy!

AHHHH!  Prepping for a new baby and holidays make for one crazy combo in my world.  So here we are, February knocking on the door, and I am finally posting our November, December, and January.  Better late than never I suppose.  It's been a super busy three months, but we have celebrated Thanksgiving, a new niece, Christmas, and prepared for a new arrival by moving the girls into one room and getting his nursery ready to go. And now, November.. We have moved up in gymnastics... now both girls get to play while mama sits.  My kind of gymnastics class.   We traveled to Tampa for Thanksgiving this year.  No baking involved... Good-Bye 2015

Happy New Year!  We actually stayed awake long enough this year to say good-bye to 2015.  We even made it out which I don't think has happened since we had our two beauties.  You better believe the minute that clock hit midnight we were hailing the first Uber driver available to get us home.  This was mainly due to Kaelyn being awoken by the barrage of fireworks and not being able to settle until she had her mama passed out in her bed. We said good-bye to Nonnie yesterday after a week and a half of time together.  We were able to celebrate Christmas and say hello to the New Year together and it was oh so special.  Aunt Kelly and Ethan also joined in on the fun for a few days. Nonnie brought all of these presents We watched our tree, Dingo (Kaelyn named him), be hauled off yesterday and have taken down the last twinkling light.  We didn't let the year and the warm weather leave us without a final trip to our favorite spot. ...

How Did We Get Here?!? Kaelyn’s First Day of Preschool (and some serious catching up!)

I had no intention of putting my eldest daughter in school this year.  I figured I would reap the last drops of my sweet girl before she began the never-ending journey that is her education.  I have a sappy heart and for selfish reasons didn't want to let my girl go.  Well after a discussion with Kaelyn on the prospect of school and the enthusiasm she didn't try to hide from weak old mom... I decided to let my little bird fly.   After asking around and checking it out online we decided on a local school that just so happened to have two available spots… one for Kaelyn and one for her bestie, Luke.   After touring the school… Kaelyn was sold and there was no looking back.   Which brings us to today.   Kaelyn marched down the hallway and made herself at home in her new classroom.     I was the mom that was in the car loop twenty minutes early after the longest three hours of my life.   She  got in the car and proceeded ...
