The Terrific Twos

I am so in love with Kaelyn’s current age.  I do realize that putting this into words will probably jinx her impeccable behavior and she will revert back to her terrible two stage… but I’ll soak up every ounce of the Terrific Twos while I can.

Today alone she…

...rocked out in not quite 9 month old sister’s diapers because mommy didn’t order her new ones in time…And didn’t complain once.

...used fresh from the dryer laundry as blankets to cuddle up with and watch Sesame Street.  She then proceeded to prance around in mama’s undies and skirt.  Sorry … no pictures of this one.

...insisted on watching the above-mentioned Sesame Street after drinking a juice box that had Elmo on it.  Once the show started and she had wore mom’s undergarments for a bit, she ran into the office and requested her Sesame Street Memory game that she hasn’t played with in weeks so that she could match the characters on the cards to the show.

...sweetly asks Lana “what happened” when she fell on her face crawling across the floor and belted out a loud cry.  My kind-hearted boo then ran up to sis and gave her a big old hug to make everything ok.  Which totally worked as Lana got a huge grin on her face and went back to falling on her face some more.

...called me into her room at naptime because her “diaper bag” for her babies was not put back in its spot.  This is not the first time she has anally made sure all toys were in their correct position before going to bed.  Gee… wonder who she gets this from?!?

...proudly marched through the store with her new coloring book and crayons she picked out.  They have the coolest crayons these days by the way.  She then came home, colored for a bit, lined all the crayons up in a nice neat row with all points facing in the same direction, told me to “watch mom” and scattered them all over.  She did this about five times.

...played in her bath with the mermaids that we brought her back from St. Augustine.  Except the mermaids are now in three pieces… head, body, and tail all separated from one another.  Gotta love floating heads and tails in your relaxing nightly bath.

She has just become so independent and such a little person so quickly.  I die everyday with something new and adorable she does.  At brunch this weekend when asked if she wanted pancakes… she politely stated, “no, I want grill cheese and fries.”  Well duh… what else would a two-year-old want?

Just love her so.  Can’t imagine my days without her and Lana… way too boring and relaxing for this lady!
